Leather Trivet in Chestnut

Leather Trivet in Chestnut

Add some class to your Saturday morning coffee, mealtime, or dinner party with this Chestnut Leather Trivet.

Measuring 7” from each point and just over .200” thick, the hexagonal shaped trivet is a perfect size for a Chemex, coffee pot, hot pan or serving dish and will keep your table from scorch marks all while looking classy.

THE LEATHER________________

Here I’m using double layered 6-7oz thick Chestnut Skirting veg-tanned leather from the world renowned Wickett & Craig tannery, founded in 1867 and based in Curwensville, Pennsylvania, USA.  The leather will be able to withstand a beating and only get better with age as your surfaces are protected.

I’ve also treated the leather with Dr. Marten’s Wonder Balsam on the top surface, which is a natural blend of coconut oil, lanolin, and beeswax that protects against water, liquid and salt. However, the leather will take on character from water marks, heat, dings and scratches. We feel this brings a totally unique character and life of it’s own to your item.

The trivet has been stitched together using size 92 bonded white nylon thread.

The edges have been burnished with water, tokonole burnishing gum, and beeswax, then finished with hand burnishing using canvas for a nice sheen and professional looking edge.

The bottom side has our small torch logo in the center.
