How do you start your day?

I am of the notion that if you start the day well, you finish it well.  Today's post is a quick one, but I wanted to share a bit of my space, routine, and some of the favorite coffee shops I like to visit when starting my day.  Above is our kitchen table, sometimes I will start the day there with a cup of coffee and go through some emails.

Otherwise, my day is in the back room on my main computer (above) where I will tackle emails, journal a bit, and plan out my day and week ahead.  To me, this is essential.  I often will wake up late and skip the journaling or planning and just kind of "wing-it" but throw off my entire day or lose focus.

Lately, I've been enjoying my Wacaco Minipresso to make a quick espresso or Americano.  Otherwise, it's a Chemex (below) or pour over.  Coffee is my fuel in the morning and a part of my routine I do not see changing any time soon.

Sometimes starting your day well means getting out of the house.  A change of scenery can do wonders for mental clarity, in my opinion.  When I do go to a local coffee shop I mainly hit up either Hopper and Burr or Bad Coffee.

After coffee, journaling, emails, and whatever else, I head into the shop... to hand craft some ruggedly badass leather goods...
